Ayesh Children’s Hospital embarked on its mission to transform pediatric healthcare in 2017 with the establishment of a dedicated children’s heart surgery hospital. This initiative was spearheaded by one of the most eminent pediatric heart surgeons in Egypt, Dr. Adel El-Gamal, whose expertise in this rare specialty is unmatched by more than a handful of surgeons nationwide. Dr. El-Gamal devoted his full efforts to the success of the hospital, which has performed over 1,600 lifesaving open heart surgeries, directly saving the lives of more than 1,500 children.

From the outset, Ayesh Hospital distinguished itself by delivering high-quality, cost-effective medical care. Our minimalist approach ensured that we spent a fraction of what comparable hospitals expended, focusing solely on what genuinely benefited the child’s health and the efficiency of the surgical procedures. By prioritizing prudent financial management and operational integrity over lavish spending on appearances and expensive advertising campaigns, we achieved remarkable outcomes. The cost of treating five children at Ayesh Hospital is equivalent to the cost of treating just one child at other leading institutions.

After seven years of continuous success and due to the recognized quality and integrity of our services, many of which involved cases transferred from government hospitals, the state generously allocated land for the expansion of our facilities. This new site in the 10th of Ramadan area near Cairo is more than forty times the size of our current premises, offered at a symbolic price of 1% of its market value. This substantial support from the government reflects their confidence in our management and mission.

Encouraged by the government and state authorities, Ayesh Hospital expanded its scope to include all major fields of pediatric surgery, positioning it as a prime alternative to renowned government hospitals like Abu El-Rish and Demerdash. With expedited approvals and licenses, the state’s support aims to alleviate the burden on these institutions, promising even greater backing with the rollout of a comprehensive health insurance system. This system not only contributes to the hospital’s income by covering operation costs but also enables us to provide medical services to a larger number of children.
